The Grandma Jar

I thought I would tell you a few more things about me: 1. My favorite color is green. I've always claimed that Green is Heavenly Father's favorite color too because it is the color of new life. 2. My favorite food is pizza--all kinds of pizza. I'm not sure if its the bread or the cheese or the toppings but put them all together and ambrosia! 3. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving and it's not just my favorite because of the food (although I love turkey, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie). 4. My favorite season is Fall. Fall is the years bed time when all the plants go to sleep for a long winters nap. 5. My favorite activity is Family History. When I'm searching for ancestors I feel like Sherlock Holmes gathering clues to solve a mystery!

I attended the BYU Women's Conference this week with Connie and her sisters-in-law. I had a great time and learned a lot. During a session by the General Primary Presidency I was challenged to write down a goal that would strengthen my family. At first I thought that the challenge wasn't for me since my children are grown and gone. Then I had a great idea--I would resurrect the Grandma Jar and write regularly to my family; so here goes. My goal was to write every day but I'm amending that goal to weekly--hopefully I can exceed your (and my) expectations! Five things you may not know about me: 1. When I was in the Jr. High I played the viola--badly. 2. When I was in High School I joined the band because they were going to California to march in the Rose Bowl Parade on New Years Day.
